Friedrich Nietzsche
October 15, 1844 – August 25, 1900

Friedrich Nietzsche was a German philosopher, poet, cultural critic and classical philologist.

Nietzsche developed the concept of "life-affirmation", which involved holding an inquiry of all beliefs and doctrines which (he believed) drained one's life energies, however socially-acceptable those views might be.

He wrote critical texts on religion, morality, contemporary culture, philosophy and science, displaying a fondness for metaphor, irony and aphorism.

Nietzsche has been called one of the masters of the "school of suspicion", alongside Karl Marx and Sigmund Freud.

"The man of knowledge must be able not only to love his enemies but also to hate his friends."

Friedrich Nietzsche

"He who has a why to live can bear almost any how."
