Simone de Beauvoir
9 January 1908 – 14 April 1986

She was a French existentialist philosopher, public intellectual, political activist, feminist theorist and social theorist.

She gave significant contributions to existentialism and feminist existentialism and in her treatise "The Second Sex" she made a detailed analysis of women's oppression and a foundational tract of contemporary feminism.
